Several anime are set to release in the winter 2024 anime season, some of them are sequels, while others are new series.
Today we are going to List out the Anime sequels of the winter 2024 anime season, so you don’t miss their release date.
1. Classroom of the Elite Season 3 (January 3rd)
Classroom of the Elite is a Lerche Studios anime adaptation of the light novel of the same name written by Shōgo Kinugasa which was published by Media Factory from May 2015 to September 2019.
Classroom of the Elite was quite a popular show when it was first aired in the summer of 2017, but lost its Hype because of delay. Fortunately for the fans, the exhilarating second season released in the summer of 2022, helped regain some of its hype for a thrilling third season. Season 3 will contain the remaining volumes of the “First-year arc”.
2. Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage (January 3rd)
Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki is a Project No.9 produced anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name written by Yūki Yaku which was published by Shogakukan in May 2016.
This novel was adapted into anime when the novel was at the top of the charts in 2019 and 2020. The popularity of the novel gave the anime the much-needed boost it deserved when the first season aired in winter 2021.
3. Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 (January 6th)
Mashle is an A-1 Pictures anime adaptation of the manga with the same name written by Hajime Kōmoto which was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump magazine from January 2020 to July 2023.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles season 1 first aired in the spring 2023 anime season and was a surprise hit. With slapstick comedy as its core and a fantasy world that seems to be a parody of a famous wizarding world, it captivated many audiences with its laughter-inducing moments.
Season 1 covered the Easton Enrollment Arc and the Magia Lupus Arc, And Season 2 is set to cover the next arc “Execution Arc” and the Divine Visionary Selection Exam story.
4. The Dangers in My Heart Season 2 (January 7th)
The Dangers in My Heart is a Shin-Ei Animation anime adaptation of the manga of the same name written by Norio Sakurai which is serialized in Manga Cross from March 2018.
The Dangers in My Heart season 1 first aired in the spring 2023 anime season, it was a huge hit with its quirky characters and comedic movements.
While season 1 covers the budding of love between Kyoutarou Ichikawa and Anna Yamada, season 2 may likely show the two characters becoming closer and possibly start dating.
5. Blue exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga (January 7th)
Blue Exorcist is an anime adaptation of the manga with the same name written by Kazue Kato which has been serialized in Shueisha’s Jump magazine since April 2009. This series was adapted into anime by A-1 Pictures for the first two seasons but season 3 is going to be produced by Studio VOLN.
Blue Exorcist became popular when it was first aired in the spring of 2011 anime season, but the series took a long hiatus of 6 years to release season 2 in the winter of 2017. Given the long wait, the fans are excited for the return of the anime after 7 years in winter 2024. Season 3 is set to cover volumes 10-15 of the original manga, known as “The Shimane Illuminati Arc”.
6. Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside Season 2 (January 7th)
Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside is an anime adaptation based on a light novel written by Zappon with the same name which was serialized online in October 2017 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Kadokawa Shoten, who has been publishing the series since June 2018.
This novel was adapted into anime by Studio Flad, Season 1 of this anime was aired in fall 2021. The popularity of this anime can be attributed to the novel fan base, who were dilated to see their favorite novel turn into anime. Season 2 will start at the 5th volume of the light novel.
7. Kingdom Season 5 (January 7th)
Kingdom is an anime adaptation based on the manga of the same name written by Yasuhisa Hara which has been serialized in Shueisha’s Seinen Manga magazine since January 2006. This series was adapted into anime by Pierrot Studio for the first two seasons and seasons 3, 4 and the upcoming season 5 are being produced by Studio Signpost.
8. Tsukimichi-Moonlit Fantasy Season 2 (January 8th)
Tsukimichi-Moonlit Fantasy is an anime adaptation based on a light novel of the same name written by Kei Azumi which was serialized online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2012 to 2016. It was later acquired by AlphaPolis, who have published the series since May 2013. This series was adapted into anime by C2C studio for season 1 which aired in the summer 2021 anime season and season 2 is set to be produced by J.C.Staff studio which will release on January 8th2024.
Tsukimichi-Moonlit Fantasy was a well-received anime in the isekai genre. The first season of the anime series has the highest overseas sales record among all Nippon TV anime.
9. High Card Season 2 (January 8th)
High Card is a Studio Hibari anime adaptation based on a manga based on a Japanese multimedia franchise created by Homura Kawamoto, Hikaru Muno and TMS Entertainment.
The anime tells a distant yet unique story with a mesmerizing world and distinctive characters and powers, which captivated the audience when the first season aired in winter 2023.
10. Urusei Yatsura(2022) Season 2 (Jan 12th)
Urusei Yatsura(2022) is a David Production anime adaptation based on the manga of the same name written by Rumiko Takahashi which was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday from September 1978 to February 1987.
This anime was first adapted by Kitty Films which ran from October 1981 to March 1986 it was later acquired by David Production and is scheduled to release 46 episodes of four cours, which started airing in October 2022, exactly 41 years after the first premiere.
